Bollywood Girl Deepika Padukone turned down Rs 4 crore for a private dance in London. The offer was to perform for a wealthy Punjabi family at an upscale club.
The offer was specific. That she dance only to her upcoming Bollywood Movie Dum Maaro Dum item number. “It was supposed to be a private party with family members and friends only. Since Deepika‘s sporting an extremely sexy look in the song, they wanted her to wear the skimpy shorts and perform the same moves,” revealed a source.
A source from London reveals, “The DMD song has been playing in night clubs. The family who made the offer is extremely rich and wealthy and from Knightsbridge. They were ready to pay her a bomb just for one song. The actress initially thought it was a joke, but when the proposal came in form of a letter with the amount cited, she was shocked. She has had many such offers in the past, but has always refused them.”
The family was totally disappointed because they had already booked the club and tried to recreate the entire visual appeal of the song. Close sources to Deepika commented upon the incident as, “The offer was made to her. But she has made it very clear that private parties are not her scene. She wouldn’t do it for any amount.”
Deepika Padukone has been in London for three months now, shooting for Desi Boyz. Some of Bollywood Actresses who seemed to have performed at such private parties are Katrina Kaif, Ameesha Patel, Mallika Sherawat and Rani Mukerji.
Aamir Khan is excited to play villain in dhoom 3. The superstar Wednesday said “Dhoom” was a great franchise to work in even though he initially didn’t think he would fit in.”I have recently signed ‘Dhoom 3′. I liked the script very much. When I had watched ‘Dhoom’, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the music and the whole attitude. It’s a very fun film. I really liked it. I never thought I would fit in this kind of film,” Aamir told reporters at a press meet here.
Victor Acharya, who wrote “Dhoom” and “Dhoom 2″ is the writer-director of “Dhoom 3″. The earlier installments were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and starred Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.
“When I heard the story from Victor, I really enjoyed it. Very well-written script, very enjoyable. It’s a great franchise and I am happy to be part of it. I am also looking forward to work with Abhishek and Uday,” Aamir said.
“It’s true that for the first time I’m doing a negative role, an anti-hero in the mainstream film. I liked my role and all the characters are very well-written. Actually, in between I did another negative role in an offbeat film ‘1947 Earth’,” said Aamir.
This is the second time Aamir is working with Yash Raj Films after “Fanaa” in 2006.
“I have worked with Yash Raj and I have a very comfortable relation with them,” he said.
The actor said Victor and producer Aditya Chopra are yet to decide the actress opposite him.
While “Dhoom” starred John Abraham as villain, “Dhoom 2″ saw Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai sizzle too.
Victor Acharya’s debut “Tashan” (2008) fared badly at the box office but that didn’t deter Aamir from signing his film.

Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor says her upcoming film Ragini MMS will be the scariest movie till date. "Ragini MMS will be the scariest movie in India so far. It has the ultimate catch-phrase, 'They didn't know it then, but it was a threesome'," Ekta told reporters here last evening. Produced by Ekta, Ragini MMS -- a horror-thriller film that revolves around a slyly shot video of a couple -- stars Raj Kumar Yadav of Love Sex Dhoka fame and Kainaz Motivala who was seen as Taniya in Wake Up Sid. "I don't make films to please people. Ragini MMS is not a porn film as it is being made out to be. I believe there is enough audience for horror films," Ekta said. Directed by Pawan Kripalani, the movie is about a young couple who enter a house to spend a weekend. They are, however, unaware that the house is loaded with hidden cameras. The twist comes when their recorded love-making reveals a supernatural element. When asked if the film has any resemblance to Hollywood's supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity, Ekta said, "The film is not like Paranormal Activity...I can say we were inspired by the medium of Paranormal Activity. The film releases on May 13.

Ever since Pixar launched its campaign of world domination, other studios have been trying, and mostly failing, to catch up. It's a bit like being a playwright in England around the late-16th, early-17th century; even your best efforts will go unheralded amid the fuss over Shakespeare's new one. But recently there have been fantastic digimations from outside the Pixar stable, including last year's How to Train Your Dragon, the trippy Johnny Depp-voiced Western Rango and now, from the makers of Ice Age, the exuberant exotic-bird comedy Rio.
There is nothing especially ingenious about the story of Blu, a domesticated macaw who has never learned to fly. This home bird is voiced, however, by Jesse Eisenberg, Oscar nominee (The Social Network), the funniest neurotic in town and an indication of the film-makers' desire to go with quality. Blu thought he was the last of the macaws, but then is taken to meet his female counterpart Jewel (Anne Hathaway), unhappily captive down in Rio de Janeiro. These birds may be of a feather, but their introduction isn't promising: he's twitchy and timorous, she's a feisty miss who wants out of her cage. Then – caramba! – the pair get kidnapped by lowlife smugglers, make an escape and fall into the busy whirligig of life that is Rio at Carnival time.
From its opening bird chorus in the jungle to the swooping aerial shots of the city, the film bewitches the eye with its movement and colour. It's always on the go, yet never seems to be trying too hard. In a zippy supporting cast there's much to enjoy in the matchmaking toucan, a serenading canary (with a bottle-top for a hat) and a gang of thieving monkeys, whose chief wears a gold wristwatch around his waist, like a prizefighter's belt. The wild card, though, and the best reason to see the film, is the villainous cockatoo Nigel, voiced with delectable malice by Jemaine Clement. Nigel, an ex-soap opera star who lost his role years ago to a younger, prettier parakeet named Patricius ("a common Paraguayan name"), now wears the furious, dishevelled look of a bird with a grudge.
His story comes out in a wonderfully droll song, co-written by Clement, that brags of his unregenerate wickedness: "I'm a feathery freak with a beak/ A bird murderer/ You think you're better than me?/ I never heard of ya." I'd watch the whole thing again just to hear him loftily dismiss the monkeys and their stolen bling: "Your burgled baubles bore me." George Sanders couldn't have said it better.
The story settles into well-worn grooves as the two macaws, chained to one another by the ankle, reach for a more lasting bond amid the chaos. Yet even when the invention droops its high spirits never flag, and the leads – Eisenberg in particular – charm us all the way to the finale. No, not Pixar standard yet, but Rio will more than do for now.
I thought of Farley Granger, who died last week, while watching The Roommate. Granger's keynote performance was in Hitchcock's fiendish Strangers on a Train (1951), one of the earliest and finest examples of thrillers in which a seeming charmer – the brilliant Robert Walker in this case – turns out to be the protagonist's worst nightmare ("criss-cross!"). In the 60 years since, the genders have changed, and the degree of sexual interest, too, from the spurned psychotic single woman (Play Misty for Me, Fatal Attraction) to the parasitic bi-curious battening of Jennifer Jason Leigh on Bridget Fonda in Single White Female. But none has ever come close to edging Granger and Walker as those calamitously mismatched strangers.

Mumbai: This could turn out to be one clincher which Bollywood khiladi Akshay Kumar would rue for long. Buzz has it that Salman Khan has replaced Akki in the fourth season of the incredibly adventurous reality show ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’.
This could also prove to be a bigger blow to Akshay when compared to his dismal performance in a string of flops last year. Grapevine is abuzz that Salman`s friendship with the channel`s head may have lead to a change in loyalties. Speaking to a daily, a source said, "After successful runs with ‘10 Ka Dum’ and ‘Bigg Boss 4’ and his runaway hit, ‘Dabangg’, Salman is on a hot streak. The clincher could be BB4`s higher TRPs than Akshay has ever had on his show for the same channel.” A source close to the actor further revealed - "Salman shot a promo for KKK4 in Bangkok while shooting for Bhushan Kumar`s `Ready`. He would never shoot a promo unless he had signed a contract. The channel is debating on how to break the news to Akshay who was kicked about hosting the show`s fourth season.” Salman undoubtedly has also won the war of television ratings (TRPs), with ‘Bigg Boss 4’, taking a clear lead over Akshay’s ‘Masterchef India’.The channel on the other hand replaced Akki in the second season with Priyanka Chopra, but Akshay’s image so etched with the theme of the show compelled the makers to bring him back in its third season. So, now the big question is will Salman be able to pull off KKK4 with the same flamboyance as Akki? Only time will tell!
Lara Dutta is reportedly terrified of cockroaches.
The actress was recently "scared" by an incident on the set of her new film Chalo Dilli, when a fake version of the insect was thrown towards her.
A source for the film's production team said: "A crew member threw a plastic cockroach on [Dutta]. And Lara, who otherwise is strong and controlled, got so scared that she practically jumped and ran helter-skelter, screaming [at the] top of her lungs.
"It was a side of Lara we had never seen before. Even the sight of a cockroach sends shivers down her spine."
Dutta, who once commented that she could never look cheap on camera, appears opposite Bheja Fry actor Vinay Pathak in the road movie.
The Housefull star was recently threatened with a boycott by the Indian media, after refusing to pose for photographs following her wedding.

At the on-going FICCI-FRAMES 2011 convention in Mumbai, Sidhartha M Jain of iRock announced quite a few interesting films which his company would be making in the days to come. iRock is the name behind films such as the forthcoming flick Ragini MMS and Shaadi Of The Dead.
Speaking at FICCI-FRAMES 2011, Sidhartha said, "We are ready with Ragini MMS which is India's first found footage reality horror film. The film is made in association with Balaji's ALT Entertainment. Post that we have India's first zombie comedy film Shaadi Of The Dead starring Abhay Deol and we are in the process of finalizing a few other actors. It's a never before seen concept of zombies gate-crashing a big fat Punjabi wedding. We also have a film called Bloody Veer in the pipeline and also have plans to make India's first space adventure film."
However the last project which Sid announced took everyone by surprise. He said, "We would also be making an animation sequel to a very popular film - Andaz Apna Apna. We are pretty focused that we are creating content for the youth in the age group of 13-35 years."
iRock, which received initial funding form Manmohan Shetty, also has Mr.Shekar Kapur on board as a Mentor. In fact, Shekhar is closely involved with iRock's forthcoming project Shaadi Of The Dead.

A realistic gripping account of politics set among the dark underbelly of Mumbai pickpockets in the infamous area of "Bhindi Baazaar"....
Like every other commercial organization here too are employees and their designations. They too have field work, administration structure and skill-set, alongside they also have business rivalry; this is a company called Bhindi Baazaar Inc. Here their main trade is to pickpocket. 'Mamu' is a title of a local mafia-head of Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation, it is a position nobody even thinks to reach, leave aside attempting to be there. Years ago the reigning Mamu snatched it from someone and may be someone has to do the same to be the next, but you never know who it can be, just as you don't know who your enemy is in the game of Chess, a game where a mere pawn can cross the Chessboard and become a 'Vazir'.
The Film begins with a Game of Chess between 'Shroff' and 'Darzi', each move of which unfolds the story which leads to the motive of their meeting. The story unfolds as a quest of a small time pickpocket 'Fateh', next in line to be Mamu to travel that extra mile and get that position. His fascination with the position and power of name Mamu leads him and his small group of fellow pickpockets and his close friend Darzi through a trail of Betrayals, Revelations, Deceits and Vengeance... but no one gets there clean and though every pawn can be in the run, not every in the Chessboard is destined to be the Vazir. The conflict takes an ugly turn when the authoritatively regulated world of these small time crooks under Mamu is shaken by a decision of not involving his pickpocket gang for spreading a flu virus through syringes, so that the antidote which is worth crores is put in use, due to which the pharmaceutical company draws rich profits, which gives the rival 'Pandey' a chance to manipulate Fateh and use him to plan Mamu's murder. And then begins the streak of betrayals that involved everyone in that world shown through the game of chess and the people through the Chessboard pieces. Nobody in this saga of shady politics is clean, everyone comes out to be mean to their core and have their hidden motives. Every piece in a chessboard has its importance, but when a pawn crosses the whole board and becomes the Vazir it changes the whole structure. This is the story of a pawn and his travel to reach to the other end of the board. This story is of this pawn who manipulates every move so that his way to reach to the top is cleared. New Delhi, Mar 8 (PTI) The country''s largest fast moving consumer goods firm by sales Hindustan Unilever has roped in Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit to endorse its fabric care brand -- Comfort.
The actress features in the latest TV campaign aired by HUL to promote the fabric conditioner that was test launched in India in 2006 and rolled out nationally last year.
"The Comfort advertisement brings alive the special touch that a housewife brings to her family in everything that she does, including keeping clothes shining and fragrant. We feel that Madhuri embodies the Indian mother''s endeavour to give the best to her family in everything she does," an HUL spokesperson told PTI.
Fabric conditioner is a new category and HUL is investing to grow this category.
"We are investing strongly on consumer education and product experience to grow this segment," he added.
