Sidhartha M Jains iRock to make an animated sequel to Andaz Apna Apna

At the on-going FICCI-FRAMES 2011 convention in Mumbai, Sidhartha M Jain of iRock announced quite a few interesting films which his company would be making in the days to come. iRock is the name behind films such as the forthcoming flick Ragini MMS and Shaadi Of The Dead.

Speaking at FICCI-FRAMES 2011, Sidhartha said, "We are ready with Ragini MMS which is India's first found footage reality horror film. The film is made in association with Balaji's ALT Entertainment. Post that we have India's first zombie comedy film Shaadi Of The Dead starring Abhay Deol and we are in the process of finalizing a few other actors. It's a never before seen concept of zombies gate-crashing a big fat Punjabi wedding. We also have a film called Bloody Veer in the pipeline and also have plans to make India's first space adventure film."

However the last project which Sid announced took everyone by surprise. He said, "We would also be making an animation sequel to a very popular film - Andaz Apna Apna. We are pretty focused that we are creating content for the youth in the age group of 13-35 years."

iRock, which received initial funding form Manmohan Shetty, also has Mr.Shekar Kapur on board as a Mentor. In fact, Shekhar is closely involved with iRock's forthcoming project Shaadi Of The Dead.

A realistic gripping account of politics set among the dark underbelly of Mumbai pickpockets in the infamous area of "Bhindi Baazaar"....

Like every other commercial organization here too are employees and their designations. They too have field work, administration structure and skill-set, alongside they also have business rivalry; this is a company called Bhindi Baazaar Inc. Here their main trade is to pickpocket. 'Mamu' is a title of a local mafia-head of Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation, it is a position nobody even thinks to reach, leave aside attempting to be there. Years ago the reigning Mamu snatched it from someone and may be someone has to do the same to be the next, but you never know who it can be, just as you don't know who your enemy is in the game of Chess, a game where a mere pawn can cross the Chessboard and become a 'Vazir'. 

The Film begins with a Game of Chess between 'Shroff' and 'Darzi', each move of which unfolds the story which leads to the motive of their meeting. The story unfolds as a quest of a small time pickpocket 'Fateh', next in line to be Mamu to travel that extra mile and get that position. His fascination with the position and power of name Mamu leads him and his small group of fellow pickpockets and his close friend Darzi through a trail of Betrayals, Revelations, Deceits and Vengeance... but no one gets there clean and though every pawn can be in the run, not every in the Chessboard is destined to be the Vazir. Sometimes the kingmakers use some pieces to reach the ultimate destination. 

The conflict takes an ugly turn when the authoritatively regulated world of these small time crooks under Mamu is shaken by a decision of not involving his pickpocket gang for spreading a flu virus through syringes, so that the antidote which is worth crores is put in use, due to which the pharmaceutical company draws rich profits, which gives the rival 'Pandey' a chance to manipulate Fateh and use him to plan Mamu's murder. And then begins the streak of betrayals that involved everyone in that world shown through the game of chess and the people through the Chessboard pieces. Nobody in this saga of shady politics is clean, everyone comes out to be mean to their core and have their hidden motives. Every piece in a chessboard has its importance, but when a pawn crosses the whole board and becomes the Vazir it changes the whole structure. This is the story of a pawn and his travel to reach to the other end of the board. This story is of this pawn who manipulates every move so that his way to reach to the top is cleared. This story is about how these small time pickpocket use their intelligence and spontaneity to survive in this mean and political vicinity called Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation. 

The Pawn who is sitting in front of Shroff, playing the game of Chess, reveals his quest to reach the position of Mamu, which only Shroff can assign. Shroff is the boss of all and he invites the pawn Darzi, the best friend of Fateh and supposedly the underdog for a game of Chess.

Arshard Warsi’s comments on Bollywood’s hottest actress Katrina Kaif have backfired on him. Recently Arshad Warsi commented on the Mango Slice Ad of Katrina rather he found it so corny that he thought of commenting about it on twitter, this is what Arhshad wrote – “How pakao is Katrina in the Slice ad, kairi pakadti hai aur vo aam ban jata hai... Angoor do toh shayad Wine banjayegi...” this statement of his though, has created some problems for him.

Keeping it cool and classy, as her usual self, Katrina didn’t reply to his comments but her fans are not in the mood to forgive him. He started receiving criticism for the comment. Arshad knew that only a smart act can save him to get out from controversy Arshad posted on the micro blogging site, "My comment has nothing to do with Katrina. It's just a humorous observation on the creative of the ad. It’s called sense of humour”. Well Arshad’s joke was not as funnier as his situation now.

HUL ropes in Madhuri Dixit to promote ''Comfort''

New Delhi, Mar 8 (PTI) The country''s largest fast moving consumer goods firm by sales Hindustan Unilever has roped in Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit to endorse its fabric care brand -- Comfort.

The actress features in the latest TV campaign aired by HUL to promote the fabric conditioner that was test launched in India in 2006 and rolled out nationally last year.

"The Comfort advertisement brings alive the special touch that a housewife brings to her family in everything that she does, including keeping clothes shining and fragrant. We feel that Madhuri embodies the Indian mother''s endeavour to give the best to her family in everything she does," an HUL spokesperson told PTI.

Fabric conditioner is a new category and HUL is investing to grow this category.

"We are investing strongly on consumer education and product experience to grow this segment," he added.

It may be recalled that Madhuri has also endorsed Lux soaps by HUL in the past when she was at the peak of her career in Bollywood.

Madhuri, who took a sabbatical after her marriage, has been on a comeback trail in the Indian entertainment space and currently features in ''Jhalak Dikhla Ja'' on entertainment channel Sony.

With her popularity still intact, recently Bush Foods, a basmati rice and ready-to-eat food company, also announced Madhuri as its brand ambassador and is set to launch a multi- media marketing campaign.

In 2009, even Kolkata-based Emami had signed up a two year long contract with the actress to promote a babycare product.

Last December, morphed pictures of Sonakshi Sinha in a bikini for a magazine cover had floated online. But, Sonakshi was quick to point out and clarified immediately on her social networking page that those were not her pictures, and that she was shocked at the stories around the fake photo shoot. 

And now Vidya's facing the same situation. A few days ago, she was shocked to learn that a morphed picture of hers in a black bikini for a magazine cover had been posted online and was doing the rounds. The photo has been morphed on the cover of a famous men's magazine for the 'Annual 2011' edition. But when we contacted the actress, she was completely shocked and denied shooting for the mag. She is now taking legal action against those responsible for this. She told us, "First Sonakshi and then me... When I heard there was a picture of me in a bikini on a magazine cover, I thought someone was being mistaken for me because I haven't done a shoot like this. But I was shocked when I saw it. I will be taking proper legal action against the people who are responsible for this." 

The two aren't the first to suffer the bane of morphed pictures that make their way online. In 2009, actress Celina Jaitly had filed a legal case against two websites – a gadgets blog and a Bollywood portal – for uploading obscene morphed picture of hers online. A magazine, in 2006, had carried morphed pictures of South Indian star Khushboo in a red transparent bikini, which had resulted in the actress filing a police complaint against the magazine.

A tender romance blossoming in Kolkata between law student Ramesh and his friend's sister Hemnalini is nipped suddenly when his father sends an urgent and mysterious summons from his village home. There, the dutiful son is peremptorily ordered to marry Susheela, daughter of a hapless widow. Ramesh refuses, confesses that his heart belongs to another. But the widow's fervent plea softens him ultimately. And he concedes, albeit with a heavy heart. The wedding takes place with due ceremony; and Ramesh sets out with his bride on a river boat journey back to Kolkata.

Soon a fierce storm arises; the boat tosses helplessly and finally capsizes in the churning waters. Later that night, Ramesh comes to his senses on a deserted shore under a starlit sky. Some distance away, he sees the unconscious form of a young bride. Her pulse is still beating, and in response to his voice calling 'Susheela' she opens her eyes at last. There is no one else in sight, alive or dead. The two move off, take a train to Kolkata, the bride wondering why they were not going to Kashi, but trusting his judgment implicitly. 

Hem, his true love, knows nothing of all this. Ramesh has been missing from the evening of her birthday party. They have learnt of his hasty departure from the city, but nothing else. Though she pines inwardly, she is confident that he will return soon. 

Back in Ramesh's new home in Kolkata, the facts of mistaken identity gradually come to light. She is Kamala not Susheela. Her husband is a doctor named Nalinaksha Chatterjee. Ramesh writes an advertisement to trace his whereabouts; but he does not have the heart to break this news to the helpless trusting young girl in his care. He puts her into a boarding school instead. But soon, Hem's would be suitor Akshay comes to know of Ramesh's secret and brings proof positive to Hem. Ramesh, unable to handle such a scandal, seeks hiding in Gorakhpur with Kamala. 

A devastated Hem is brought to Kashi by her father to help her forget. There she meets Nalinaksha and they warm up to each other. 

Kamala in the meanwhile having read the advertisement in an old newspaper, realizes the enormity of the lie she has been living, and walks out determined to drown herself in the river. Ramesh returns and finds her suicide note, searches everywhere to no avail. He does not know that she has been rescued by a courtesan and deposited in Kashi under Nalinaksha's mother's care. Kamala now sees her real husband for the first time, but cannot speak up, for he is betrothed to Hem. 

Finally, the advertisement she keeps knotted in her saree is discovered, and the whole truth comes to light. Ramesh finally traces Nalinaksha and arrives at his house. 

The whole sorry mess raises many questions of head and heart and the validity or otherwise of social conventions. We are left wondering whether true love will finally triumph.

Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wouldn't be able to play the leading lady in the film 'Game' owing to her commitments to other projects. The film 'Game' in which Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead, is directed by Abhinav Deo who was ardent to sign up Aishwarya opposite her husband. However, Kangana Ranaut was the immediate option as a substitute of Ash in the film. Sarah Jane Dias is cast in the role of a mystifying woman in the film. The casting for the two major female roles of the film was a significant task, but once they were locked, signing up the remaining stars was done with ease.

Kangana Ranaut is roped in to play the role of a path-breaking detective in the film, which is all set to release on 1st April. Game is jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Jimmy Sheirgill, Gauhar Khan, Shahana Goswami, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher form the supporting cast.

‘Race 2’ Movie To Have Anil Kapoor And Saif Ali Khan In The Cast

The producer of ‘Race’, Ramesh Taurani has said that the movie’s sequel, ‘Race 2’ will go on floors early next year with Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.

The sequel will be directed by Abbas-Mustan, who had made the 2007 hit ‘Race’, but Taurani is silent about the leading ladies and whether Kareena Kapoor would be signed on for the sequel.

"In February or March 2010 'Race 2' will go on floors. The film will certainly be bigger and better than the first part. If you thought that the twists and turns in 'Race' were deadly, then watch out for the sequel. There are many more surprises in the offing," Taurani, who is on a high on the success of ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ produced by his banner Tips Music Films, said.

The climax of ‘Race’ was open-ended and two of the protagonists, Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif, who were supposedly killed weren't actually shown dead on screen. Also, the relationship between the other two characters, Saif and Bipasha Basu, too had been left open for speculation.

"Along with Saif, even Anil Kapoor is finalised for 'Race 2'. These two are integral elements of the film and cannot be done away with. For the rest of the cast, the decision would be taken once the script is finalised. Expectations are so high from the film that we have to be doubly sure before we start shooting," said Taurani.

There are reports that Kareena may team up with Saif in the film, but Taurani says no actress has been signed on so far.

"Whether Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif or Akshaye Khanna would be repeated in the sequel or if Kareena Kapoor would be added to the cast or would replace any of the earlier leading ladies is something I can't comment on right now. Let the script be ready and we will decide on the balance star cast," he said.

Taurani also refuted rumours that Abbas-Mustan may not direct the sequel. "That's baseless. They are certainly directing the sequel," the producer said.

Taurani is quite excited about the film's prospects. "I can promise that just like 'Race', this one too is an expensive thriller and would be shot on a lavish scale in foreign locations. The action too would be many notches higher."

Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara[1] is an upcoming Hindi film, directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment. It will star Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deoland Farhan Akhtar. The female roles are played by Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif where the latter is said to be paired with Hrithik Roshan.[2] The music will be composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.[3]

Earlier, Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were rumoured to be a part of the film, but they declined because they wished to star together in their own production.[4] The film is a male bonding road story, about three friends, on the lines of Dil Chahta Hai. Shooting will take place at various locations such as Spain, Greece, Turkey, Thailand, the UK and Bihar|mujaffarpur.
